The rain yesterday was sudden and fierce. By the afternoon, the gray river near our barangay had swelled and was rushing swiftly under the traffic-jammed Del Monte Bridge. The nearby street was already waist deep in water cutting off another avenue for cars to pass through.
Thankfully the rains have stopped, leaving only gray skies and slightly damp weather. Some don’t like this kind of day, I happen to like it.
I like that it isn’t the usually blistering hot Manila weather. I like the feeling that the world has become smaller and more intimate. Instead of becoming depressed, I get the feeling that the day is full of possibility and that I can do anything.
I don’t know why I feel this way. But strangely, I always have.
